WORKING CONDITIONS: May work inside or outside while wearing required personal protective equipment at all times; possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, weather elements, dust, toxic materials, in restricted or confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; works on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Personal weight and tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladders (Class 1-250lbs, Class 2-300lbs.

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach over head.

Lift 51 pounds, 20 times per day.  Constantly move about on the feet.

Climb ladders of all types.

Complete full day assignments involving overhead work.

Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.

Possess good vision, normal or corrected.

Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.

Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.

Must be able to positively identify different colors of wiring.

Employee must be capable of performing the following:

Under the guidance of Supervision: measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit/Raceway using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.

Readily accepts instructions assigned in the safe operation of tools, use of equipment, electrical principles, and applicable codes

 Able to perform with instructions of supervision, utilize all power tools, saws, threaders, knockout punches, wire tuggers and hydraulic benders.

Dig trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.

 Willing to learn how to operate all equipment including trenchers, back hoe, and lift trucks in a safe manner.

Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.

 Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in GDC Safety Policy Handbook, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.

 Operate two handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers.

Operate company vehicles with both manual and automatic transmission.

Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, work site directions, and written instructions.

Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts, both electric and gasoline powered.

After detailed training, work energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in GDC Safety Policy.

With supervision, Install wiring and make branch wire terminations in junction boxes and panel boards.

With supervision, Install wiring and make feeder wire terminations in junction boxes and switch boards.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

Licenses:                     Current Driver’s License, State, Apprentice License

Education:                   High School Graduate, GED or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:                  Basic mechanical skills
