Job Description: Electrician Helper (E1)
Pay Range: $17-$20
Position Summary The Electrician Helper supports licensed electricians and apprentices by performing basic labor and non-licensed electrical tasks while learning proper electrical work practices, tools, materials, and jobsite safety requirements. This position is entry-level and requires close supervision at all times. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Assist electricians with material handling, staging, and organization
- Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from work areas
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas
- Set up ladders, scaffolding, and work platforms under supervision
- Assist with pulling wire and cable
- Install supports, hangers, and non-energized components as directed
- Hand tools and materials to electricians during installations
- Assist with conduit installation and basic layout under direction
- Follow all jobsite safety rules and company policies
- Participate in job hazard analyses (JHAs) and toolbox talks
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, near misses, or injuries
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of training
Qualifications - High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in industrial environments
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn electrical trade fundamentals
Required Certifications and Training - OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety (required or obtained within designated timeframe)
- Jobsite-specific safety orientation
Tools & Equipment - Electrician Helper must provide and maintain their own basic hand tools customary to the electrical trade
- All hand tools must be in safe working condition and comply with company and jobsite safety requirements
Experience - No prior electrical experience required
- Construction or industrial experience preferred
Physical Requirements - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work overhead for extended periods
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and elevated work platforms
- Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, or confined environments
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, FR clothing, and harnesses
Work Environment - Industrial and commercial construction jobsites
- Indoor and outdoor work
- Exposure to moving equipment, electrical hazards, and varying weather conditions
- Work hours may include nights, weekends, and overtime as required
