Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Perform mechanical installations and assemblies with minimal supervision • Install piping, equipment, ductwork, and mechanical components in accordance with drawings and specifications • Read, interpret, and apply mechanical drawings, specifications, and work instructions • Perform layout, measurements, and alignment of mechanical systems • Assist with rigging, lifting, and positioning of equipment under supervision • Support system testing, inspections, and verification of completed work • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical systems and identifying root causes • Verify work quality and ensure compliance with company standards and project requirements • Mentor and assist junior apprentices and helpers • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas • Participate in job hazard analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and safety meetings • Follow established safety procedures, codes, and quality standards • Report hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately • Accept coaching and feedback from journeymen, lead mechanics, and foremen • Perform other duties as assigned consistent with advanced apprenticeship responsibilities Qualifications • Active participation in and near completion of an approved mechanical apprenticeship program • Demonstrated advanced mechanical skill and trade knowledge • Ability to work independently while recognizing limits of authority • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Tools & Equipment Experience |
